Urban Tavern Introduces A Kids Dining Program

Urban Tavern in downtown San Francisco has introduced a new Kids Program geared towards children aged four to twelve years of age. The program includes a special menu, the availability of DVD players and a monthly art competition. Parents will likely appreciate the five hours of free parking provided when dining at the restaurant.

The all new kid’s menu is priced at $10.00 and young diners get an entrée, starch, vegetable, and dessert. Among the beverage options is a $3.00 milk flight comprised of portions of Vitamin D, strawberry and chocolate milk. A full American Buffet breakfast is offered to children for $5.95.

Urban Tavern now also has available ten portable DVD players with screening options that range from Scooby Doo to Baby Felix the Cat.

To help stimulate the creativity of their young diners, Urban Tavern has begun hosting a youth art competition. A monthly selected winner will receive two tickets to the San Francisco Academy of Science and the winning illustration be displayed in the restaurant’s front window for the entire next month. At the end of the year, one of the monthly winners will receive two tickets to Universal Studios in Los Angeles and a weekend stay at a Hilton family property.

For big kids, Urban Tavern serves American gastropub cuisine prepared with seasonal, fresh, often locally sourced organic ingredients. All Urban Tavern menus are created by a culinary team consulting with acclaimed chef Donna Scala.

Urban Tavern's interior design is the creation of Donna Scala and Gensler Design. Highlights include a striking full-size horse sculpture by Arizona artist Doug Owen welded together from tractor, motorcycle and car parts, underscoring Urban Tavern’s green sensibilities while juxtaposing old and new, rural and urban - elements found throughout the restaurant. Also notable are the intimate booths, reclaimed wood beams and claddings, a communal table made from a recovered fallen tree, plaster walls, exposed concrete, a marble-topped bar and saddle-shaped bar stools.
